BIG HEART DESIGN

About Big Heart

The concept for Big Heart was conceived by Matt Carlisle following years of frustration working with vendors who understood traditional business models, but were overwhelmed by the unique needs of non-profits.

Having more than 15-years of Web development experience with not-for-profits, Matt left a very successful career to create Big Heart Design. We partner with your organization to help bring to life websites and online applications that are focused on such efforts as education, advocacy, benevolence, the arts, healthcare and spirituality. Big Heart empowers your ideas to ultimately make the world a better place for all.

The reason many companies fail when working with non-profits is that they forget that the ultimate goal isn’t about making a profit. It’s about relationships. Big Heart Design’s user-centered approach to design is tailor-made for
not-for-profits. The end product is a result of not only listening to the needs of your organization, but those of your constituents. Rather than being left with a website that you will have to rebuild in two years, Big Heart Design
creates a foundation for you to grow your organization online.

  • Philosophy

We understand that many non-profits have the desire to create relevant websites and online applications, but are limited by tight budgets and overworked staff. As a result, many great ideas that could make a difference in the lives of those in need are curbed.

Big Heart Design employs a user-centered design approach. User-centered design is a design philosophy and a process in which the needs, wants and limitations of the user are given extensive attention at each stage of the design process. Learn more

Matt Carlisle is one of the most thoughtful project partners I've had the pleasure of working with. On this project, he was able to lead an incredibly complicated website program through an even more complicated business environment, and communicated extremely well on multiple fronts from beginning to end. I'm looking forward to working together again.
